6 teams on their way to Binghamton

The New York State American Legion Baseball Senior Division Championship Tournament is set to take place from July 25-27 at Mirabito Stadium, the home of the New York Mets Double A (AA) team the Binghamton Rumble Ponies in Binghamton, New York. In addition to a new location the Tournament also has a new format.

Six teams will compete this season with each team playing two pool play games before the top 4 teams qualify for the single elimination playoffs.

Last season Greece Post 468 defeated Whitestown Post 1113 to cap an undefeated run in the tournament to become the 2022 champions. This was the first state championship for district 7 in 55 years and Greece Post 468 returns this season looking to make it two in a row.

Meet the teams:

The Clinton County Mariners sponsored by Post 1619 return to the tournament for the 10th consecutive time. The Mariners, led by Coach Gary Duquette are the lone team in the 4th district but have crisscrossed the state this summer competing in tournaments competing against other American Legion teams. The Mariners recently won the prestigious Coopers Cave tournament in Saratoga NY and enter the tournament with an 18-7 record this season.
