Headed to the American Legion World Series

Greece Post 468’s remarkable 2025 season added another chapter on Sunday with a 7–5 win over Waterford (Conn.) Post 161 to claim the Northeast Regional Championship in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. The victory earns Greece a trip to the American Legion World Series in Shelby, North Carolina, August 14–19.

This marks the first time in 23 years that a team from New York State has reached the World Series stage. The last appearance came in 2002, when the Rockland County Pirates—also known at the time as the OTB Pirates—represented the Empire State.
