Join us in Utica, New York for an unforgettable weekend of baseball for the Department of New York American Legion Baseball Junior State Championship, running Friday, August 1 through Sunday, August 3 at the historic Donovan Stadium at Murnane Field in Utica, NY.
This year marks a truly special milestone — we proudly celebrate the 100th Anniversary of American Legion Baseball, a century-long tradition of developing young athletes and building character through the game of baseball.
Returning to the Junior State Tournament for the third consecutive year, Binghamton Post 1645 arrives with experience and determination. They secured their spot by sweeping Endicott Post 82 in the first two games of a best-of-three series. Binghamton finished the season with a record of 8-7-1.
With a season record of 12-7, Kingston Post 150 punched their ticket to the state tournament in dramatic fashion, defeating the Rockland Pirates by a score of 6–5 with a walk-off win in their district championship game. This marks their first state appearance since 2010, the same year they won it all with help from now MLB infielder Zach Short, currently with the Houston Astros.
Representing American Legion Post 1619 of Morrisonville, NY, the Clinton County Junior Mariners are no strangers to the state tournament. With a season record of 17-11-3, they return once again for another run at the title. True to form, they arrive alongside their senior counterparts, who also competed in this year’s Senior State Tournament.
Now in their third year as part of the Department of New York American Legion Baseball program, Lowville Post 162 has made incredible strides. After finishing their 2023 season with a record of 5–11, they surged to 17-13-2 this year and earned their way to the state tournament by defeating Utica Post 229 with an 8–4 victory in the district championship game.
